Stocking Your Fall Inventory

With just 29 days left until the first day of Fall, it’s time to start thinking about your inventory for the changing seasons. The fall is packed with events such as back-to-school and Halloween, and with the right items on your shelves, you can motivate clients to buy even before the holiday rush.

Autumn Inventory Ideas

Not sure what to add to your inventory this fall? Here are five ideas to help you stock your shelves this season:

End of Summer Refresh

The summer heat and sun can wreak havoc on the skin and hair. Stock your shelves with some stellar conditioners, moisturizers, serums, exfoliants, etc. to help clients replenish after the typical summer breakage (who else lives in ponytails?) and dry skin.

Back to School

Does your inventory take into consideration college students heading back to school? Students are more likely to buy product in bulk because they probably won’t be home until the holidays. Consider creating care packages for your college-age clients to cover them for the semester (think dry shampoo, under-eye patches, etc.). Don’t forget about your teachers! Help them look their best on the first day of school with special product bundles to help them achieve a great look without a lot of time.

Fall Look Boards

Help your clients achieve a new look this season! Create inspirational look boards on Pinterest to help inspire clients. Highlight these boards as part of your Fall marketing campaign. Don’t forget stock up on retail accessories to help compliment their new style with a new lip color, texture spray, jewelry, etc. Look boards are also super helpful to help streamline Halloween costume ideas. Post hair and makeup inspiration to draw in more clients to get your clients to come in for that extra visit in October

Autumn Scents

The fresh and crisp summer scents transition to hearty and comforting scents during the fall. Play to clients senses and incorporate scents such as pumpkin, cinnamon, ales, mulled wines and ciders, apples, and more. Add these seasonal flavors to your body scrubs, conditioning treatments, aromatherapies, retail products and more to enhance the client experience. Plus, limited-time offerings will make clients more likely to buy.

Stock Up for Fall Trends

Last year, ‘pumpkin spice’ hair was all the rage on Instagram. This year, ‘cold brew coffee’ is taking the lead. Staying up to par on the hottest trends on social media will help your stock your shelves to accommodate the influx of clients asking for these looks. Not sure if trends are profitable? Just look at Starbucks who earned over $100 million dollars from Pumpkin Spice Latte sales last year. The coffee company turned the drink into a fall staple and you can do the same by positioning your products and services in the same way.

Earn Your Inventory Certification

Inventory can be one of the most challenging areas for any business. Proper inventory management is necessary to stay organized and on track for overall success. How do you know what to order, if you cannot track the preferences of your client base? How do you stay on top of theft, if you don’t have an accurate picture of what is sitting on your shelves?

Through the Inventory Certification program at The Millennium Experience 2018, you will receive formal training on utilization of the software and industry best practices and learn:

  • How to set up and organize your products for the best success
