The Anti-Social Playground

This game called life is yours and yours alone.

From our own internal perspective, the whole world revolves around us. There are 7 billion people who see it the same way. While we are not all inherently selfish or self-obsessed, we are all far more concerned with how we are perceived by others than how we perceive them.

Change is the name of the game in social media! Facebook and Instagram continue to evolve and make changes with most being good for marketing purposes! To be an adept social media marketer, you must keep up with the constant changes that all the social media networks make.

As hairstylists, the majority of the focus is on Instagram. This is the best platform for brand awareness and building yourself a clientele. However, depending upon what your business is, I believe LinkedIn to be the most effective network from a business perspective and it has greater ability to drive lead generation.

Regardless of which platforms you use the best advice is to choose just 3 networks and really build those ones as your priority.

We all know the power of social media in today’s world…However social media is influencing all of us to more disconnected than we’ve ever been before through the illusion of increased connection.

Therefore, I question is social media robbing us of real-life experiences or do we regress to what the digital world has to offer? Is this playground making us more or less anti-social?

The reality is social media isn’t always reality as to many is more a perception and illusion of what we want to portray.

Yes, we are able to communicate with thousands of people with ease, but with what depth

Relationships are an extension of our happiness and need nurturing. However, as always focus on strengthening the most important relationship…the one with yourself.
